I'm all about the healthy, high protein meals because I'm currently breastfeeding. I'm also all about easy since I don't have a ton of time to cook with a baby and toddler. I was a little hesitant to try these at first because for some reason thought they would be too strong in flavor, even though I love seasoning my food. I didn't need to add anything to this because the flavor is so full and quite good. Definitely a bit stronger on the seasoned side, but it wasn't spicy or "too much" for me. These bags are so quick and easy to heat up and serve. I keep them on our kitchen island for when I need something healthy and fast during my busy days. I recently saw a recipe where you bake a sweet potato and throw seasoned chickpeas on top. Then you either make some kind of tahini sauce or guacamole and voila, a quick tasty and filling meal!
I love the convenience of these packets. Just throw them in the microwave for a minute and bam! done! We serve with chicken or pork or whatever kind of main dish we are having that day and it makes an easy and delicious side. Also, so easy to throw in my lunch bag for a yummy lunch. They are delicious and a great addition to our pantry!
This chickpea stew tastes wonderful. The chickpeas are nice and soft. The mix of spices is really deep and flavorful. Preparation couldn't be simpler; just put it in the microwave and serve. I found it goes well with rice. The price is somewhat high compared to the ingredients, but it's reasonable to expect to pay a bit more for convenience, and it's cheaper than you'll pay for takeout for a similar quality of food.
We LOVE these chickpeas! The blend of Moroccan spices are like nothing Ive tasted. The texture of the chickpeas were perfect, with just the right amount of flavorful sauce, its absolutely delicious. We had them alone and over brown rice, both ways were a hit. Amazing product.
On a vegan diet, I'm often struggling to find food that is healthy but also quick and easy to put together for those days when I'm running around and don't have time for a full home cooked meal.
This is quick to make and tastes good. The pack itself easily can feed my wife and I with some rice to go along with it. Only downside would be pretty high in sodium, so if you're watching your sodium intake be careful with this.
Can't say that I'd know what Moroccan spices taste like, but this chickpea stew was pretty tasty.
One order gets you six packets, each good for two servings. It's a decently large amount per serving with a good amount of chickpeas. I don't usually eat chickpeas, but the texture is nice and tender. It reminds me of a good potato. The stew itself is pretty flavorful as well, with lots of spice and tastes kind of smokey.
While the flavor itself is good, it is definitely on the salty side. I would very much recommend it to be eaten with rice or some bread. It's roughly five dollars per pouch, so I would consider it a bit on the pricy side, but it keeps well in the pantry and will definitely come in handy in a pinch.
This dish is easy to cook since all you need to do is heat it up. I have found that it tastes best as a base for a dish with added vegetables and rice.
We have food sensitivities in our house, and we are always looking for different options to spice things up in our world so food is not boring or bland. This brand was a hit especially with my 8-year-old. I tried several flavors. The hummus soup has a taco flavoring with chick peas. The Addis is a taco (mainly cumin) flavored lentil soup. The Harira Moroccan Chickpea & Lentil Soup is delicious with a cumin/cilantro taste.
Each flavor is in a box with six pouches, and in each pouch is two servings. One serving really isn't that much, and it seems normal even for an 8-year-old to have two servings for part of his meal. But, two servings of the hummus (one pouch) of this is actually 52% of your daily sodium, so many people may need to be very careful. The Addis is 40% if you eat the whole pouch. They are very delicious, though. The Addis seems a bit too salty, actually, so I could make it stretch out more by adding some water. The convenience pouch may be helpful for people that bring lunches to work. It's heavily seasoned, so if you are going out on a hot date later, you might want to eat this another night since they will smell your breath until next Tuesday. Lol. I really love that these pouches stand up in the pantry, so I don't feel like I'm wasting space or have a mess. This brand has other flavors as well especially mixed with lentils. I think these are delicious, but the cost would make it difficult for me to constantly reorder. I definitely appreciate it, though, and it's a big hit in our house. FYI, the pictures are the entire pouch in one bowl.
Great product with mild flavor and (somewhat) healthy chickpea. As other reviewers mentioned, this prepackaged food is somewhat high in sodium. Other than that, I think it makes for a tasty meal or side dish. I feel these pouches are a good value for your money and provide ease and convenience compared to making the dish yourself. Overall, very satisfied and would try other flavors from this company.
Pardon my steamy photos, I took them mid-cook. I added two packs of this to a pan with a can of crushed tomatoes ?? (https://amzn.to/3wOuB9r) fresh baby-ish spinach ??, a few minced cloves of garlic ??, evoo to start and a couple pinches of salt while cooking, and a sprinkle of Nooch (nutritional yeast) stirred in to finish. It came out delicious. Paired with garlic naan (https://amzn.to/3XP3ebu) = so yummy. I havent tried this on its own, but it does smell decent straight out of the package, and it tastes amazing when you doctor it up a bit and stretch the servings. This made 4 servings for me with the naan and was quite filling. Highly recommend for a quick, easy meal.
